BIOGRAPHY
Pieter Tredoux obtained his BA with Music degree from the University of Stellenbosch, specializing in singing and flute. During his studies he was awarded several prizes and bursaries, mainly for his performance of art songs. He also sang the title role in the university’s production of the Puccini opera, Gianni Schicchi, directed by Christine Crouse. After completing his studies and travelling overseas, Pieter returned to Stellenbosch to study with the renowned opera singer, Nellie du Toit.
Pieter made his professional theatre debut in Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera as Monsieur André, produced by The Really Useful Company and Pieter Toerien, playing to sold-out audiences in Cape Town and Pretoria. He continued down the musical path with the role of Steven Baker, as well as understudying the male lead, Gaylord Ravenal in Cape Town, Den Norske & Nürnberg State Opera’s production of Show Boat which toured to Germany and Norway. Pieter then played the part of Harry in Deon Opperman’s production of My Fair Lady in the Pretoria State Theatre. Directly after, he returned to Show Boat for another tour to Germany. In 2006 he collaborated with Rika Vermeulen on the production French Chansons, for the Darling Voorkamer Fest. In 2008 they teamed up with the Ukrainian born Lyudmyla Rukavitsyna-Heath on the pulsating production Tangos and Parisian Passion. Pieter also starred in the musical review Some Enchanted Evening at On Broadway Theatre in Cape Town before starting to work on Beauty and the Beast. In the latter he received rave reviews and a Naledi Theatre Award nomination for his portrayal of Lumière, the galant candelabra. In 2009 he returned again to Show Boat for a run in Malmö, Sweden. Aside from performing, Pieter took on the daunting task of company manager for this 70 strong company. In 2010 he sang the role of FW de Klerk in the musical tribute to Nelson Mandela in Cape Town Opera’s African Songbook as well playing Father Trevor Huddleston in the same production. He ended the year in the Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita in Johannesburg and Cape Town, playing many ensemble parts and alternating as Perón during the Cape Town run. Pieter came to Europe to join the international cast of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Cats. He played the part of Old Deuteronomy in this german translated production that was staged in Switzerland, Germany and Austria between September 2011 and June 2013. At the end of 2013 he was seen in The Voice of Gregorian in Austria. In 2014 and 2015 he toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland as The Persian with Deborah Sasson in Phantom der Oper and 2016/7 as Javert in Barricade the musical. In 2016 he played the part of Vanderbilt in Liebe stirbt nie in the Stage Operettenhaus and since 2018 Pieter has been gracing the stages of Stuttgart in Anastasia as Wlad, Count Leopold and Count Ipolitov, and until January 2023 in Disney Aladdin as walk-in Jafar and Sultan. In 2024 he played Smokey in Clarence Square and Harry, as well as Zoltán Kárpáthy in My fair Lady at Theater Hagen. In the 2024/25 season he is appearing in the German cult Musical Elisabeth, as Count Batthyány and cover Max of Bavaria.
Pieter is not only a stage performer, but has also modelled for numerous international campaigns, magazine editorials and catalogues for amongst others BMW, Deutsche Bank, Vichy, Chevrolet, Sony, Regatta clothing and Multiopticas.
Pieter studied Acting for film and has since appeared in numerous television commercials of which Austrian Tourism, Persil, Pepsi and Lidl are a few examples. His most recent Image Films are for Ryobi, Wellendorff, and many internal educational videos for the likes of Merck and Boehringer Ingelheim. Pieter’s film credits include journalist Jerome Dubois in Thank you for Bombing (2015), the Spanish love interest, Pedro, in The Italian consul (2010); the French dad Pierre in the independent short film La Chambre (2010); a cameo role in the Warner Bros Television Film Avenger (2006); and Roger Woodford in the South African/Canadian co-production of the drama series Jozi–H.

Der gebürtige Südafrikaner Pieter Tredoux machte seinen Abschluss mit einem Bachelor of Arts im Fach Musik an der University of Stellenbosch, um im Anschluss daran seine Gesangsausbildung bei dem Opernstar Nellie du Toit fortzusetzen. Für seine Interpretation der Rolle in Johannesburg wurde Pieter für einen Naledi Theatre Award nominiert. 2010 sang er die Rollen FW de Klerk und Father Huddleston in der musikalischen Ehrung Nelson Mandelas, der Cape Town Opera-Produktion AFRICAN SONGBOOK. In 2014 und 2015 war er wieder in diesen Ländern auf Tournee mit PHANTOM DER OPER als der Perser und 2016/7 als Javert in BARRICADE, das Musical. Im Jahr 2016 verkörperte er Vanderbilt in LIEBE STIRBT NIE im Operettenhaus in Hamburg, und seit 2018 spielte Pieter in Stuttgart. Erst bei ANASTASIA das Musical als Wlad, Graf Leopold und Graf Ipolitov, und anschließend bei Disney ALADDIN als Walk-In Cover Dschafar und Sultan bis Ende Januar 2023. In 2024 wirkte er mit bei CLARENCE SQUARE in Berlin und als Harry und Zoltán Kárpáthy in MY FAIR LADY bei Theater Hagen.
